Kinesio Dry Cupping Therapy (KDCT) is an advanced therapy form in cupping therapy. Specific suction force according to person’s need is applied on the skin using glass or silicone cups. The negative pressure from the suction provides the therapeutic effect on the body and local tissues. In Dry cupping therapy we use silicone cups which are very effective and beneficial for deep myofascial tissue release.

Benefits of Kinesio dry cupping therapy:

  • stretches and releases muscles and soft tissue
  • stretches fascia (connective tissue) at superficial and deep levels
  • assists to break up or remove adhesions or scar tissue, allowing for more range of movement in tissues
  • stimulates the nervous system, causing a release of endorphins and decreased pain
  • relaxes the nervous system
  • increases circulation and blood flow to the treatment site
  • moves and facilitates lymphatic fluid drainage
  • strengthens the immune system
  • assists to remove toxins and can draw up dead blood from old injuries

Stationary dry cupping can often leave marks or discolouration on the body which can look like bruises- they are not. A bruise is a result of a traumatic injury or direct blow to the tissue. The extent of the discolouration after cupping is different for each individual depending on their condition. If a cupping treatment produces marks in a certain area it indicates an imbalance in that area. During a subsequent visit, if the cupping were performed in the same spot, the marks would not look the same, or may not even produce a mark as the tissues and underlying condition begins to heal.

Kinesio Dry Cupping is often used in conjunction with & nbsp; KIASTM, Dynamic Taping or other treatments as it can compliment and enhance the effectiveness of the treatment.
